The customer is an ERP consultant who specializes in the Manufacturing and Logistics Industry. They are leaders in this space in the APAC region.

The Challenge

The customer wanted to build a custom Analytics platform with real time insights and tailored to the Manlog industry’s needs. The solution should run on a browser, support multiple companies on a single instance and access to data made available for analytics needs be based on the users role.

The Solution

The Spagylo team proposed a partnership model to build the product. A cloud centric approach was taken where the Analytics Engine and the database will reside on the AWS Cloud. A custom Cube framework for data aggregation and caching was developed. The query engine was designed to support drag and drop query builder and complex custom queries. The D3 graphing library was enhanced to support custom chart components. Workspaces module was built to handle role and license based access to data and modules. Connectors for supporting multiple databases were created. The final solution could generate insights from multiple sources including spreadsheets. There was also a reporting solution that was modeled to work along with the dashboards. Dynamic dashboards that show different data to different users based on their roles were built. Dashboards and reports can be scheduled to be emailed on a regular basis. Android and iOS applications were built to support the dashboards on mobile devices.

The Results

The users of the system liked the simplicity and the easiness of generating reports and dashboards. The managers and the top level executives enjoyed the portable dashboards and could use them on their mobiles when discussing with stakeholders outside their office. Scheduled reports helped the users to be abreast with the latest information and reduced a lot of manual effort.
